The Vampire Intern Diaries

For over three years, I’ve lived in secret. Hiding in the office, alone in the marketing world. Until now. I’m the vampire intern and this is my story.

Satori Marketing’s CEO, Marché, has been friends with my father Salvatore for many years. He would always talk about her, but never introduced me. Until about three years ago—Marché and I finally met, and I was a little shy at first. I told her I was interested in the marketing world, and one day she gave me a call. She asked if I wanted to come into the office and help with one of their biggest projects for the remaining months of my senior year of high school. Automatically I said yes, but inside my mind I was a little hesitant. Marché told me to come in and the Satori Rockstars would be there to show me the ropes.

I was nervous for my first day on the job. I came in and I got my very own desk and a computer with TWO monitors, which I never knew anyone would need. Both Can and Jen had jobs for me to do. My response was always “Yes, I can do that.” But in my head I was thinking, “I don’t even know how to turn on this Mac!” For about five minutes I sat there playing with my computer. I kept thinking to myself they were probably thinking I was useless (later they would find out that I am not).

After I tackled the first big hurdle of how to turn the computer on, the next step was to figure out how to use Adobe Photoshop. I had used Photoshop before, but it was in grade school when I was bored and didn’t want to pay attention. About twenty minutes had gone by, and I still had no idea what I was doing, so I finally asked for help. Everyone was very willing to answer all my questions, which, if you know me, are a lot. If I ever didn’t understand something, the first thing I would do is ask a question.

After my senior year, I made Marché proud and went on to Texas A&M University and I absolutely love it! After my first semester, I came back and interned for Satori a second time, over Christmas Break. I still had lots of questions but I had built up my skills with Mac computers (lol), Photoshop, WordPress, website building, social media marketing, and many more marketing things. (Look at me with all the Marketing lingo!)

I came back to be a Satori intern for the third time this summer (after my freshman year). By this time, there was a new addition to the Satori team: Chandler. Chandler has been helping me just the way the other Satori Rockstars have, by answering all my questions and helping me with anything I was working on.

Throughout these three internships, I am truly grateful that every single person on this team has stopped everything they were working on to help me grow. Now that I am a full time intern, I have grown VERY close to everyone in the office. We’ve all figured out we love vampires (as you can see from my bewitching picture), food, and strangely enough, American Girl dolls. As I am writing this blog, my American Girl Doll, Samantha, is sitting right in front of me (Yes, I actually brought it into the office). (No, I am not always that girly).

Now that I’m headed back to Aggieland for my sophomore year, Satori needs a new Intern (ha—I am creating this blog for my replacement, who could be a better intern than me. But honestly that’s not likely). This intern position has probably been one of my favorite jobs ever. The work environment is great, but the fun we have is even better.

So apply to this job. 😉 You’ll love it!
