KLM Airlines Innovates with Sentiment and Sensibility

Airport Pups 2

KLM Airlines invested in some out-of-the-box marketing that is self-sustaining and almost guaranteed to be shared on social media by passersby who see this. The airline has managed to solve a common airplane problem in an ingeniously simple, sensible and sensational fashion. And what an adorable solution! KLM executives took a chance on a helpful pup doing his job and it just goes to show: sometimes craziness pays off!

We won’t spoil the surprise… just take a look!

1Even if they only work this pup one day a month, think about the amount of traffic! This strategy will generate a ton of PRICELESS free advertising from airport travelers posting photos and videos of this cute working dog on social media… and who can blame them!? It must have been an interesting pitch meeting from the KLM marketing department to convince the airline to pay for a scent-trained dog to return items.

Today, KLM is one of the top names in the European airline industry, and boasts “reliability and a healthy dose of Dutch pragmatism.” They are notably focused on sustainability and actively work toward furthering their country’s and customers’ economic and social development.

Their customer-centric point of view has led to a strong drive for innovation—and this latest innovation certainly gets a big thumbs up from us!
