No, that’s not a typo – it was intentional. Why? Because last night at the Crystal Awards Gala, Satori Marketing was honored with not one, but TWO Crystal Awards for our work on the York’s COOLEST Pet in Houston Campaign!
A few months ago, we submitted for three different categories, and a couple of weeks back we found out we were finalists for two: Marketing Campaign (Medium Budget 25K – 150K) and Website (Business-to-Consumer). In order to find out if we won, we had to attend the awards gala, so we put on our best clothes and rubbed shoulders with some of the most creative people in Houston.
While our two wins last night weren’t our first time winning an award (we were honored with an Award of Excellence by the Business Marketing Association a few weeks ago), last night was our first experience at a full-on awards gala. It was one of the most fun nights we’ve had in a long time. The staggering amount of creativity on display was nothing short of incredible. We saw campaigns that reached people all over the world, delivered phenomenal above-goal results and showcased the incredible amount of talent in this town.
We are still reeling from our amazing night last night (and our heads are still fuzzy), so here are a couple of random thoughts about the evening:
- Earlier in the day, Mark went through the finalist list and followed everyone on Twitter to congratulate them when they won. The Woodlands Ad Agency immediately Tweeted back to us, wishing us luck. We ran into them at the gala, and immediately bonded over the fact that this was a new experience for both of us. They won last night, too, and when we won they came up and celebrated with us. Darren, Lisa, ninja-man Fernando and team – congratulations on winning and thanks for being so great!
- We’ve worked in our current office building for nine months now, but we still haven’t met all of our neighbors. That didn’t stop David Drake from Brookwoods Group (a tenant in our same building) from coming out after we won our award just to meet us and congratulate us on winning. Class-act move, David.
- Special shout out to Ben Berkowitz and team at Ell Creative for the great video work for the awards last night – and it was nice to finally put a face with a name!
- Thank you, thank you, thank you BrightSpot Creative and the AMAs for putting on this event. We had an amazing time (if you couldn’t already tell) and can’t wait to do it all over again next year. But first…
It’s time for a nap. Check out our Facebook and Google+ albums for pictures of the event. I’ll leave the final word to the creative team at Woodlands Ad Agency, who tweeted these two fantastic images today:
